So our house wasn't quite noisy, crazy or messy enough so we thought long and hard on what we should do about it. Shawn and I agreed that it was time for a dog. Now, I know, everyone keeps telling me about how they can be up all night, need to pee, you have to feed them, clean up after them, they chew on things...but it's okay...we have training with that sort of thing. (Have any of you met COLIN?) This isn't something that we took lightly. Lots of websites, lots of books...finding just the right breed for kids. We decided on a Lab. Then we named it. Now we just have to find him/her!! We have chosen Murphy for our new pup's name. We have a few breeders that we are looking at locally, but we're trying to get a Vet lined up before hand. Thanks to a million and one answers to our crazy questions that have gone out to our family and friends. We didn't want to go into this without knowledge and advice...so if we hit you up with questions...THANK YOU.
We actually found a little guy on Petfinder.com that just stole our hearts. We put in an application with a rescue in CT. He is three months old and living with a foster family in CT (that has kids as well). We will find out early this week if he comes to us or not. If this little guy doesn't end up as our "Murphy" we'll be looking to purchase from one of the breeders late in the summer. Here are some pics of the pup we put the application in for.
